Milestones: IC PhD Review Milestones
The goal of the PhD review process in the School of Interactive Computing is to give students feedback on their progress in the program, in relation to clearly articulated expectations and milestones. Each year, the school faculty conducts two PhD Reviews as follows.
Full Review (Fall): This review occurs each Fall semester and is scheduled in early November. All PhD students except first-year students are reviewed.
Mini-Review (Spring): This review occurs each Spring semester and is scheduled at the end of April. All first-year students and everyone who is not in good standing participate.
First-year students submit their self-evaluation through grad.cc.gatech.edu by the third Friday in March, approximately one month before the Spring Review. The submission forms the basis of the faculty discussion about the student's progress.

When a student is accepted into the PhD program, they are granted certain rights based on the expectation of maintaining good standing. The PhD review is the mechanism by which faculty periodically communicate to students whether they are in good standing. In the worst case, when a student is no longer deemed in good standing, the school will no longer have a commitment to financially support that student.
