All projects are to be submitted following these steps:
Upload all project files to the Class Google drive-Work SubmissionsLinks to an external site., label your folder with your name
Upload your short documentation of the project to the same folder
Copy the link of the folder and paste it on Canvas for submission
Grading:
5 x small assignments (10% each) -> 40%
2 x written responses (5% each) -> 10%
Project 1 -> 20%
Project 2 -> 25%
Attendance and Participation -> 5%
Evaluation: class presentation
short assignment: 4 point for originality, 6 points for technical execution
project: 8 points for the originality, 12 points for technical execution
written: 5 Points for the summarization, 5 points for contextualizing, own perspective
Late Assignments: 10% deduction of the grade per day, 7 days to 0
Collaboration: final project will be completed in small groups
Equipment:
a laptop that is capable of running audio software
Access to a digital audio workstation (DAW) on your laptop eg. Ableton Live (Available in the IDeATe fleet of laptops), Logic, Reaper, ProTools, AudacityLinks to an external site. (free software)
Download MAX/MSP 8 (Available in the IDeATe fleet of laptops),
Download VCV RackLinks to an external site. (free software, or miRackLinks to an external site. (IOS device, AppStore $9.99)
Academic Integrity: two requirements
Attribution - You must clearly identify where the code/images/sound came from.
Transformation. You must significantly transform the materials you are using.
Attendance: 24 hours in advance to be excused
Illness with a note from Health Services or a doctor the day you return to class
Official school business with a note from the supervising faculty
Observance of religious holidays.
More than 2 unexcused absences will result in a drop in letter grade. 15 min late is an absence
Extra Time Commitments: 9 unit and 5 hours per week
Communication: office hour encouraged for technical questions.
